For Dry Skin and for Sensitive Skin
Cleansing products are designed first of all to dissolve and remove skin oils that collect dirt and old skin cells. But that can leave naturally dry skin rough, cracked and unprotected. Look for a formula that will clean and moisturize.
Those with sensitive skin have challenges, too. Traditional beauty products often contain chemicals and fragrances you need to avoid.
Cetaphil Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Wash is recommended by dermatologists to clean without irritation. When you’re dealing with sensitive skin, you know about things to look out for and this productdoesn’t have any parabens or nut oils – and it is fragrance free! In fact, it is so gentle it can be used on an infant’s skin (3 months old or older).
Cetaphil Restoraderm is developed through patented technology specifically to hold in skin’s moisture and soothe dry, itching skin, too. Used daily as directed Cetaphil Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Wash is recommended for people who are eczema prone or suffer from skin allergies. The gentle but effective, non-irritating foam actually provides a skin barrier function. This is a top selling brand for both dry and sensitive types of skin!
So do men and women really need different cleaning products? Well, men do have thicker skin – literally. The epidermis or outermost layer of a man’s skin tends to be denser than that of a woman’s so it tends to feel rougher and tougher. Also, men typically have larger pores so they produce more oil and hold more dirt and bacteria in their skin. And even in today’s equal opportunity environment, year-round, dirty, outdoor work is often a man’s lot.
Well, Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture is a patented product formulated to provide deep cleansing power while nourishing and protecting skin. Originally produced to help relieve the irritation and stress of harsh, cold, winter weather on skin, Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture is so gentle, effective, and safe, daily use smoothes and softens skin all year long. Regular use of Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture is shown to improve dryness and minimize rough patches. It is no surprise Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture is a consistent, best-selling product for all!
What’s the difference between bar soap and liquid soap?
Thank goodness we have more choices than our ancestors who depended on strong detergents to clean the body! They commonly made soap at home mixing alkaline minerals extracted from ashes with animal or vegetable oils in a process called saponification. Sometimes called lye soap, it could become so caustic it would literally remove layers of skin with the grime!
Softer, gentler bar soaps for delicate skin are still made out of ‘saponified’ oils. They just make sure there’s still enough oil in the finished product to make it feel smooth and to have a moisturizing effect. There are a lot of varieties of them on the market. After all, companies have long seen the marketing opportunities inherent in adding colors, fragrances, scrubbing agents, and antibacterial compounds to their bars.
Body washes and shower gels, however, are the product of modern advances in chemistry. They fall under the category of liquid soap and are mostly petroleum based products, not containing saponified oil. PH balanced to be less irritating to the skin and offering a richer lather with less soap scum than bars, today there are hundreds of liquid soap products on the market.
From a cleansing standpoint, whether you are a man or a woman; whether you have thick, thin, sensitive, or dry skin, we all want the same results from a bath or shower; remove dirt, sweat, dead skin, grime and bacteria. These best selling body washes do the job.
